Welcome Back - Fall Picnic and other activies

posted Aug 24, 2011 12:39 PM by Pack 5 Webmaster   [ updated Aug 24, 2011 1:09 PM ]

As the summer begins to come to an end we would like to welcome back all of the scouts and their families to what is sure to be an exciting year of Fun Filled Scouting Activities.  I have attached the latest calendar for the up coming year.

We will be starting our year with the Fall Picnic at the Town Playground (Timber Town) on September 1st at 6pm.  I am going to need some volunteers to help with this event including some people to lend us your grills for the evening so that we may cook the Hamburgers and Hot Dogs.  Please RSVP to myself or Ed of you plan on attending or volunteering so that we may plan accordingly.

We are also planning a Fall Cub Scout Family Camping Trip on Saturday Oct 8th that will coincide with New Hampshire Scout Jamboree held that weekend at the Waterville Valley Ski Area and Resort, Waterville Valley NH.

Information will be available shortly regarding this.

Our Pack Meetings will continue to be held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:30pm.  For the Month of September it is at McKelvie, October it will be held at Peter Woodbury and in November back at McKelvie.  Sorry for the change each month, however the School Superintendents office has the final say on where we meet.

We will also be having our New Scout Night Registration and Information Night on Sept 8th at 6:30pm-8pm at McKelvie and we are hoping for a great turn out this year so that we can continue to grow our Pack membership for years to come.  Anyone wishing to volunteer to help with this night would also be appreciated.

Lastly the Pack Committee will meet on September 11th at 630pm at my house to discuss and plan our up coming scouting year.

Sorry for the long message, however with the start of a new year I want to make sure that everyone has as much information as they need to plan their scouting events.  Please feel free to contact me or Ed with any thoughts or concerns regarding any of the above events or any other issues that you may have.  Hope to see everyone at the picnic

Yours in Scouting

Bedford Rotary Race and Pre-Memorial Day Parade

posted May 6, 2011 6:05 AM by Pack 5 Webmaster

We are looking for scout and parent volunteers to help with the Bedford Rotary Race on Saturday May 21st to hand out water and popsicles.  We are going to meet at 8:15am at a location to be determined near the High School.  The event should be over by 1pm.

We are also looking for scouts to participate in the Bedford Pre-Memorial Day Parade on Sunday May 22nd.  It is a short Parade from Nashua Road (Baseball complex) and walk down to Mckelvie School.  Lining up for this event will be at 12:30pm and the parade starts at 1pm (Rain or Shine).  These 2 events are a great way for Pack 5 to show our our commitment to our community.  Please let me know if you are going to be attending either or both of these events.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks

Yours in Scouting
